Perhaps celebrating the holidays this year, without the presence of your loved one, will be tough, as you experience the sight of an empty chair. No matter who you love—a spouse, a parent, a child or a sibling, and no matter how many losses you have experienced, or for what duration, the rituals of the holidays only put an emphasis on your loss and grief, especially when getting into the holiday spirit and joining in the hustle and bustle of buying and exchanging gifts are the expected norms.
During this time of what may feel like aloneness and isolation, we welcome you into a community of other bereaved as we explore, support and find ways to get through one of the toughest times of the year. Our 2.5 hour session will start by viewing a DVD on the topic, and a discussion on tips and strategies will ensue. Through it all, we will come to embrace one another’s pain, celebrate one another’s resilience, and gain an appreciation of what it means to be all too human. A lighted candle will illuminate in your loved one’s honor throughout our session. You will also have a chance to create memory boxes to take home, so please, bring a photo of your loved one with you.
Donations at any amount are welcomed and will be used to fund future bereavement groups
