The Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy, in partnership with the Financial Times, is hosting its annual Financial Markets Quality conference on October 10, 2017. The event will be held in the Rafik B. Hariri Building, McDonough School of Business, on Georgetown University's campus.


The panel topics will include:

Market Structure - The Vision from the Exchanges: Market Structure directly impacts capital formation – a cornerstone to efficient markets and the ability for companies and organizations to access capital for growth. The executives responsible for trading and listing of the major markets will share their views of immediate challenges, near-term opportunities, and their long-term vision to keep markets robust and efficient.

Trends and Forces Driving the Capital Markets: From FinTech through short term vs long term, this panel will take an in depth look at the state of innovation in the capital markets today.

Exchange Traded Products: This panel will dive behind the headlines into the current state of ETPs to look at such issues as concentration; ETP impact on underlying constituent price discovery. Seed capital, new product innovation, illiquid asset classes.

Regulatory and Policy Environment: All markets strive to be robust, fair, and liquid, by striking the proper balance between regulation and innovation. The challenge of creating a regulatory and policy environment that leads to efficient and effective markets is the topic for these leading policy makers.
