Carrie Byrnes, Partner, Michael Best (Oak Brook & Downtown)

With her experience starting the ERISA practice in the Chicago office of an Am Law 100 law firm and spending time as both in-house counsel and a human resources leader, Carrie has been engaged in all aspects of human capital and talent management. These experiences provide Carrie a unique and holistic understanding of the demands of the modern workforce. When not guiding clients (large and small, private and public) through all aspects of their benefits and compensation legal needs, Carrie serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching employee benefits in a Masters of Laws program. She is also a frequent speaker on employee and executive benefits and has published numerous articles in the field.

Christin Handa, Attorney, Horwood Marcus & Berk (Downtown)

Christin concentrates her practice on estate planning and estate and trust administration. Prior to joining HMB, Christin practiced family law and represented clients in divorce and custody proceedings. Christin’s experience in family law complements her practice in estate planning, particularly with the negotiation and drafting of premarital and postnuptial agreements. Christin prides herself on being accessible to her clients and providing practical advice to accomplish their goals. She is also passionate about providing legal services to disadvantaged individuals and families, and is a volunteer attorney with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and is an associate board member for Sarah’s Inn.

Theresa (Terry) Clancy, Owner, Theresa Clancy Law (Oak Brook)

Theresa Clancy is a solo attorney practitioner in Oak Park and focuses her law practice on estate planning, guardianship, probate, and real estate. Theresa has been practicing law for over 25 years.
