About this Event

NOTICE: For 2021, the Supreme Court is considering a proposed rule change which would require both SENE and FENE courses to be completed by FENE providers. (The MN State Family ECM/ENE Committee found that the SENE training be taken with FENE training as it includes additional information on the history ENE, ICMCs, Domestic Violence, getting onto ENE rosters, etc. that is not included in the short FENE training.) It is not known whether FENE providers who took the training prior to adoption of the new rules, if they are adopted, will be required to take the SENE course (if they have not already). If you have not taken SENE and are interested in taking SENE on February 10 & 11, 2021. Please contact Aimee.Gourlay@mediationcentermn.org for a $50.00 discount to take both courses (February 10 - 12, 2021 for $700.00).

FENE process benefits parties hoping for settlement before their financial resources are expended on litigation. FENE providers gather information from parties and their counsel, use their expertise and experience to consider the information and the parties’ situation, and give evaluative feedback to parties at an impasse regarding financial issues in separation & divorce, as well as child support, maintenance, and other financial considerations. Experienced FENE providers and trainers cover additional topics of relevance to FENEs:

• Critical components of the FENE process,• Explaining the FENE process to parties and counsel,• Techniques to ensure parties feel heard,• Methods for collecting necessary financial information,• Delivering an evaluative opinion,• Concluding the session with settlement, and• Memorializing the agreement.

ENE Training participants learn to conduct ENE sessions while gaining knowledge of ENE process and theory. In this experiential training, ENE trainers use demonstration and role play in conjunction with expert panels and in-depth presentations. Participants will gain eligibility for the SCAO’s ENE Provider List – please see the information under “Prospective Providers” on the MN State Court website for additional ENE provider requirements.

Susan Chambers and Another Way are on the MN SCAO Master ENE Training Provider List; Susan has been involved in providing ENE training for attorneys and other family court professionals since 2011. Find out more information about Susan Chamber’s work at SusanStevensChambers@weebly.com.

Contact Aimee.Gourlay@mediationcentermn.org for a reduced rate of $700.00 for both courses. Our training that provides participants with the theories, processes and standards involved in ENE work.
