Description

Learn the foundational tools of personal financial success. Explore financial concepts, tools and systems to get your personal finances in order so you have systems in place to start building wealth. Get hands on experience with class activities.



This class meets 2 Saturdays: September 9 AND October 7

10 am - 4pm

Cost : $65 full price for both class meetings, FREE for MERIT IDA participants

SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE for selected, income qualified participants. A scholarship application will be emailed to you after registering on Event Brite. All registered participants will be given the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.



Financial Beginnings is part of the Financial Empowerment Program offered by MERIT (Micro Enterprise Resources Initiatives & Training).

Actively participate in both classes to receive a certificate of completion. The Financial Beginnings class provides 10 hours of financial education curriculum required for IDA's (Individual Development Accounts).

MERIT offers IDA's for small business and job skills training (welding & truck driving). IDA is a matched savings program where small businesses save $3000 in a special account + meet program requirements = receive a $9000 grant to use toward the development of their small business. Job skills participants save $1000 and receive $3000 for job training. Income limits apply. Contact Genevieve Sheridan for a program application: ida@meritnw.org
