Tandem Hang Gliding

We are returning to have tandem hang gliding with Hangar 3. We have been to Hangar 3 each of last five years and it was certainly a blast!

Hang gliding grants man his primal wish to soar with the condors. Since recorded thought man has dreamed of having wings and hang gliding makes that dream come true. Imagine flying like an eagle. You are thousands of feet above the earth’s surface. Although the air is brisk, the view is stunning and the feeling is exhilarating. You seek out updrafts of air to keep you flying so that you marvel in the view for as long as you can. This is hang gliding. The morning will start with a safety briefing and instruction, and you will be towed in a tandem hang glider to 2,500 ft above ground with an 'USPHA' rated tandem instructor at your side, then release to fly freely like a bird and land safely on wheels. They video each flight with an on board camera. (Video costs additional $40)

Depart Date: October 15th Saturday; Please arrive 15 minutes earlier.

Depart 8:10 AM from Union Square: (Walgreen) Southeast corner of 4th Ave. & 14th St., New York, NY 10003 (Map) Subway lines (14 St-Union Sq): N, R, 4, 5, 6, L.

Depart 8:30 AM from Midtown West: (Garden City Deli) Northwest corner of West 43rd St. & 9th Ave, New York, NY 10036 (Map) Subway lines (Times Sq-42 St): A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, S.

Return: Depart around 2:30 PM & expect to be back in Midtown West at 4:30 PM and Union Square at 5:00 PM

Cost (Tandem Hang Gliding): Early Birds $209 with $59 deposit (includes BBQ cook out & transportation) for first 7 spots or 14 days in advance; Afterward, Regular $229 with $79 deposit; Bring balance of $150 cash on the event date. Video CD costs $40 additional. Bring $5 cash tips for the hang gliding instructor.

* Refund 50% of event fee if cancelled 10 days prior to the event date;
