American Theatre Project of New Orleans in conjunction with Ashé Cultural Arts Center and the New Orleans Fringe Festival is proud to present the WORLD PREMIERE of "…a member of the white race…" during the 2013 New Orleans Fringe Festival, November 20- November 24, 2013, Ashé Cultural Arts Center, Ashé Two Performance Space at 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70113.

Written by Warren Burdine, directed by Ed Bishop, the play, based on the court case of Ralph Dupas, one of the great New Orleans prize fighters is ripped from the headlines in Jim Crow 1957 New Orleans, as the son of Southeast Louisiana parents attempts to holds on to his boxing title as the number-one lightweight contender by challenging the city of New Orleans and its allegation of his "passant blanc" (Fr. passing for white), and being guilty of concocting an elaborate “passing” scheme.

FEATURING: Todd d'Amour, Ray Vrazel, Janet Shea, Carlos Gonzalez, Karel Sloane-Boekbinder, Tim Caldwell, Kathryn Talbot, Mia Frost, and Denzel Johnson.
