Event description
Anacostia Riverkeeper is proud to present the film "Blue Heart" as part of American University's Films Across Borders film series.

About this Event

"Films Across Borders" is an annual film series hosted by American University each fall that screens films aligning under a unified theme. This year's theme is "Stories of Water" and Anacostia Riverkeeper has joined other organizations in screening a film for the series. For our film we have chosen Blue Heart, the Patagonia, Inc. produced film that explores the grassroots campaign currently underway in the Balkans to protect the last wild rivers of Europe from the threats of potential hydroelectric dams.

The program will take place on Thursday October 17, 2019 in the Eaton Hotel's screening room from 7-9PM. We have partnered with Patagonia DC to bring this documentary to the big screen and they will be on hand to answer questions and to potentially raffle off some great Patagonia gear! The program will include brief introductions from Anacostia Riverkeeper as well as Patagonia staff followed by the film and a brief question and answer discussion for anyone who may have questions after the film. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to Anacostia Riverkeeper and helping us restore and protect the Anacostia River for all in its watershed.

If you can't make it to the screening but want to join the fight to protect our rivers check out our website or feel free to DONATE to Anacostia Riverkeeper.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for a night of talking rivers and what we can do to keep them flowing free!
