Description

The Departments of Film and Television Studies and English at the University of Warwick invite you to a FREE screening of the critically acclaimed Cornish film Brown Willy (2016; wr./d. Brett Harvey, pr. Simon Harvey). Described by The New Statesman as 'Cornwall's answer to Withnail and I', Brown Willy offers a challenge to mainstream representations of Cornwall. This event will begin with a brief introduction to questions around screen representations of region by Drs Rachel Moseley and Gemma Goodman (Warwick), followed by a screening of the film + shorts and ending with a question and answer session with filmmakers Brett and Simon Harvey. The event runs from 12.30 to 3.30 on Saturday June 17th 2017 in the Warwick Arts Centre cinema and is FREE. Attendees will be asked to answer a single question on a postcard at the end of the event.
