Event description

Description

Join us for the 7th annual Filmmaker’s "Collard Greens and Grits" Bash, Saturday, February 23, at the Downtown Jackson Marriott. The event will feature live entertainment, a silent auction, and the always exciting (and delicious!) Top Chef Competition, which includes three categories – Chef, Sous Chef, and Pastry Chef – all showcasing Mississippi’s finest culinary talents. In honor of this year’s theme, chefs will prepare Southern-inspired dishes with a Mississippi flair!

The VIP Champagne Reception opens the event from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., and tickets are $100 per person. In addition to the exclusive Sous Chef Competition, the Steve Johnson Blues Band featuring internationally acclaimed vocalist Steve Johnson, grandson of bluesman Robert Johnson, will provide the entertainment for the reception. The main Bash event will take place from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., and tickets are $50 per person. It includes live music by Pocket, featuring Melvin "Housecat" Hendrex and a special appearance by Keith Johnson, great nephew of acclaimed bluesman Muddy Waters; the International Marketplace Silent Auction with unique items from around the world; and of course, amazing food from the Top Chef Competitions. The evening’s attire is any creative interpretation of the theme "Collard Green and Grits."

Overnight accommodations are available at the Jackson Marriott with discounted room rates of only $99 for attendees! Click here to reserve a room by February 15: Marriott Reservations!
