Film to Fork: FARMCITY & AN INDIANA FARM TO FORK CELEBRATION
Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EST)
Join us for the first installment of our Film to Fork series, a series that is a treat for all the senses. Our first event pulls out all the stops with a double feature of smart, local, food-centric shorts, paired with a delicious meal from one of Indiana's best.
First up, and making it's World Premiere, is FarmCity. FarmCity examines the complicated relationship between the health of a city and its food system. In this challenging documentary, producer JD Schuyler, shares an inside view of Indianapolis’ health. Through stories of an urban farmer, a single mother, a grocery store owner, health experts and community organizers, FarmCity looks at what needs to happen to build a healthier city.
Next up is An Indiana Farm to Fork Celebration: The Joseph Decuis Story, featuring the talented chefs at Joseph Decuis. Joseph Decuis is an award winning, farm-to-table restaurant in rural Indiana, named after the owners’ ancestor. The farm raises nearly everything the restaurant serves, from herbs and vegetables to free-range chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, and perhaps most notably, Waygu cattle—a rare, Japanese breed that produces tender, well-marbled beef. This film offers a glimpse into the inner working of Joseph Decuis, recently named on the 50 best restaurants in the United States.
As a special treat, Joseph Decuis will be catering our dinner for the evening!
Enjoy this delicious series of foodie films with special foodie friends in the grand Cook Theatre at the Indiana Landmarks Center.
