Global Students presents the documentary, Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things, as part of LGBT+ History Month.
This documentary gives a historical context to colonialism and its impact on Inuit communitites in the North of Canada. After the screening there will be an opportunity to examine the role of the documentary and talk.
‘A small group in Nunavut, Canada prepare for a seminal LGBTQ Pride celebration in the Arctic. Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things explores how colonisation and religion have shamed and erased traditional Inuit beliefs about sexuality and family structure - and how a new generation are ‘unshaming’ their past.’
