Description

Please join us for this special screening in celebration of Pride Month!

The craft of bespoke clothing takes center stage in director Jason Benjamins’ 2016 documentary “Suited.” The film tells the story of Bindle & Keep, a Brooklyn-based tailoring company that specializes in clothing for people who are gender non-conforming. Clothier duo Rae and Daniel considered each client’s personal narrative, from one man’s emotional journey as he prepares for his wedding to Everett, in a conservative environment, or a woman who simply wants to look good for a 40th birthday party.

Programmed to complement the Society of Arts + Craft’s ongoing LGBTQ-focused exhibition “PRIED,” “Suited” shows how the need for well-fitting garments represents deeper issues of identity, empowerment and happiness in one’s body.
