FILM SCREENING: ISLAND

DOORS & BAR 6PM / EVENT 6.30

Free popcorn provided.

A screening of Island, Steven Eatwood’s 90-minute feature film followed by a Q&A with the artist.

Island is Eastwood’s sister work to the exhibition The Interval and the Instant currently showing at Fabrica until 26 November 2017

Filmed at and produced with the full consent and involvement of inpatients, outpatients and staff of Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Isle of Wight it addresses the taboo subject of dying, reflecting current attitudes in palliative care and society around end of life experience, and the visibility of the dying person.

“You have created a unique and powerful film that will change people's perceptions of end of life in a significant way. The film is beautifully crafted and I feel very proud to have been part of it. I think it has an important message to share, on so many different levels.”

Nigel Hartley, CEO Earl Mountbatten Hospice speaking about Island.

Premiered at London Film Festival.
