SUMMARY of "Girl Rising"

From Academy Award nominated director Richard E. Robbins, Girl Rising spotlights the unforgettable stories of 5 girls living in the developing world, striving beyond circumstance and overcoming nearly insurmountable odds to achieve their dreams.

The narration of renowned actors and the moving words of prize winning authors combine and give voice to the girls' stories and this powerful truth: educating girls can transform families, communities, countries and eventually the world.

Through the power of story, the film seeks to change the way the world sees and values girls and inspires all of us to dismantle the barriers that hold them back. At Brave Coalition we are committed to raising awareness and making real change. Because we live in a global society we believe in the importance of understanding the issues today that affect our sisters here in Denver, in the United States and around the world. Educate a girl, change the world.
