About this event

The screening will begin at 4pm ET and the panel discussion will begin at 5:30pm ET. Participants are invited to join for the full program or just the panel discussion.

Now entering its third year, the Covid-19 pandemic continues to worsen effects of a housing crisis faced by many communities worldwide: Millions of families behind on rent, while others pay an increasing share of income on housing; growing numbers of evictions; and rents driven higher by the presence of private equity in housing markets.

Filmmaker Fredrik Gertten describes these issues in Push, a documentary about the housing crisis that points to the role of private equity in creating and continuing this this crisis.

Join the Kalmanovitz Initiative for a screening of this film and panel discussion on the causes of the housing crisis and how a new social compact can reshape housing in ways that increase affordability while offering stability to the post-pandemic working class.
