Event description
How can I get my film idea the backing it deserves? Join this masterclass on the art of film pitching, with film producer Luke Walton.

About this Event

Why are some great ideas overlooked and other (not so good ones) funded? How can I make my idea (clearly a fantastic one) get the backing it deserves? What will help me step up to the next level? And what makes a great pitch anyway?

Sputnik and One Small Barking Dog, in association with The Pitch, present a masterclass on the art of film pitching, with film producer Luke Walton.

Getting your point across really does count. This session is for anyone who wants to get better at the art of pitching - from those starting out who want to know how to pitch ideas to execs, to those looking to refresh themselves on best practice. It's aimed at filmmakers, but there will be fundamental principles that carry across to any area of life; from other creative professions, to arguing the toss-up between pizza or fish & chips, a rom-com or thriller.

The Pitch Fundamentals

The Pitch Film Fund works to develop emerging talent in the UK industry through a competitive pitching process.

Luke Walton, director of The Pitch Film Fund, will cover getting the core of your story across with genre and character, how to practice pitching in everyday life, pitfalls to avoid, responding to feedback and how to persevere with pitching.

-

It is supposed to be the classic scenario. You step into the lift and discover you are sharing it with the commissioner or president of a major studio. You have 10 floors of elevator travel. This is your moment to get your movie idea in front of the boss. It is literally an elevator pitch. The question is are you ready?
