This three-part workshop is about using film cameras as opposed to digital. It includes a two-hour lecture on film photography, an instructor-assisted group photo shoot, and a critique and gallery showing.

  • How to correctly load camera, expose film, and rewind film
  • How to troubleshoot exposures
  • Some ideas in the cultural and academic conversations about photography

Session 1:  Two hour lecture on photography history, camera mechanics and film exposure.  Topics in the cultural conversation of photography are also included.

Session 2:  An outdoor, weekend photo shoot with two instructors to assist, hands on. Film will be provided (and the location will either be Sutter's Fort or the Sacramento Capitol park.)
