This four hour workshop is an introduction to the craft of screenwriting and basic filmmaking with an emphasis on the fundamentals of storytelling and proper technique. Attendees will learn how to plot a story, develop characters and execute their work in proper screenwriting format so that they may one day complete a polished script suitable for screenwriting competitions, submission to agents and production companies. In addition, attendees will be introduced to basic filmmaking concepts such as shot composition and how to visually build a scene.

About the Facilitator...
Najaa Young is President and CEO of NaRa Films and a highly sought after professor of digital filmmaking currently teaching in the Atlanta metropolitan area. In 2004 she received her MFA in Film Production from Florida State University's acclaimed Graduate Conservatory of Motion Picture, Television and Recording Arts and has worked as a writer, director and producer on music videos, commercials and films. In February 2016 she received a Certificate of Recognition from the city of Pittsburgh, PA for her continued success in film and entertainment.
