Description

How do you define a digital release strategy for your film? What’s the difference between the various digital platforms? How do you release your film on these platforms? This deep dive into digital film landscape aims to shed the light on the various models, players and challenges and most importantly provide you with tools to navigate this complex environment and make the right decisions.

In this class, you will learn about different VOD (Video on Demand) platform models and what can each outlet offer your film. We’ll give a clear perspective on the process and costs involved in local and international VOD release. We will talk about windowing your project through other distribution channels (theatrical, home video, etc) and discuss case studies to illustrate successful and less successful releases. Lastly, we’ll look into the future of this rapidly changing environment and how filmmakers and producers can adjust and seize new opportunities.

This class will be useful as it applies to episodic, but most of the content will speak to feature film. One hour of the course will focus on a case study of an episodic show in specific detail.

MOUNIA CHIBOUB

Mounia is the Film Distribution and Marketing Manager at Under The Milky Way, an international company dedicated to digital film distribution and marketing. She is responsible for Digital and Theatrical distribution. Mounia started her career in Strategy Consulting for Retail and Media Companies. She interacted with a various range of clients while providing advisory on their growth strategies before shifting to the film industry.

She defines digital release strategies for over 100 independent films and feature documentaries per year. She also oversees theatrical distribution and released four films in theaters in 2017 including award-winning features and critically acclaimed documentaries. Mounia manages relationships with International and local platforms including iTunes, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Comcast, Netflix, etc.
