Event description
When today's stories of crushing greed and endless growth have come to an end, what, then, will be the new stories?

About this Event

Bring a small dish and join us in the North Common Arts gallery for an evening of film and conversation. Doors will open at 6pm to welcome you into our space. Coffee & tea will be offered.

The screening will begin at 6:30pm. The film is 90 minutes long and will be followed with a conversation with Chris Wood, director of BALE (www.bale.org), regarding the film and its various themes & questions it leaves us asking of ourselves. This will be an engaging evening and we invite you to participate.

This event is FREE & open to the public, we just ask that you RSVP on Eventbrite OR by emailing us: info@northcommonarts.com (for seating purposes only)

Many thanks!

ABOUT THE FILM:

Dancing with the Cannibal Giant follows the stories of five groups of people and places, where big ideas are unfolding. This is a film about moving beyond disempowerment, in order to enact real change in a changing world.

After seeing the documentary film, The Wisdom to Survive: Climate Change, Capitalism, and Community, Chris Wood of BALE (Building A Local Economy) was inspired to create a film that would answer the question: "Will we have the wisdom to survive climate chaos and planetary destruction?" Dancing With the Cannibal Giant offers five stories that answer this very question, and invites its viewers to ask themselves, what am I doing and what are we doing together, to put the giant back to sleep?
