Strong Moms Strong Girls

Working Together to End Relational Aggression

There are three types of bulllying: physical, verbal, and relational aggression. Relational aggression involves hurting someone's reputation, feelings, or relationships and often occurs among friends. Examples include gossiping, exclusion, and conditional friendship.

The Junior League of Ann Arbor's Strong Moms Strong Girls workshops teach girls and their caregivers how to deal with relational aggression and its destructive behavior which can affect girls' confidence and emotional well-being.

Figuring Out Friendships Workshop

This 3.5 hour workshop aims to teach girls and their female caregivers how to:

  • Identify why relational aggression happens
  • Process feelings about relational aggression
  • Improve girls' communication with caregivers and friends
  • Deal with relational aggression through role play

Facilitated by social workers and trained volunteers. Cost is $30 per pair and includes snack. Inquire about possible scholarships at SMSG@jlaa.org.
