Fenner Hall is pleased to host the third event in this series of staff-student conversations at ANU. The final event for 2022 is dedicated to Intersectionality.

ANUSA BIPOC and Women’s department reports (2021; 2022) on incidents of racism and sexual harassment and assault reveal that domestic and international students from Indigenous and BIPOC backgrounds, and those who identify as gender-sexuality diverse and non-binary, are more likely to be targets of sexual harassment and assault, as well as of racism, than other students.

Participants will explore the intersectional experiences of oppression and privilege for staff and students on campus, in the classroom and the residences. It will also ask how intersectionality could be applied in teaching and in curriculum development as a tool for critical analysis and for addressing related discrimination. After panellist discussion, the floor will open up to Q&A with the audience.

Light refreshments will be served after the panel/Q&A.
