Description

Fighting History: Post-Election Brainstorming

Where does this leave art? What can we do from here onwards? What do we expect next?

In response to the November election results, NYC Creative Salon invites the public to join us for an open discussion with a panel of professionals discussing issues which concern the art world.. What role does art play in our society?

What role will art play in this historical political moment in history? Who are we as artists and how can we effect awareness and empathy, while bringing issues to the surface which are an anathema to our society -- asking questions about the future of contemporary art and curatorial practice.

This event explores how we use artistic strategy and visual materials to provide a means of allowing space for critical discussion. The panel features artists and professionals that will stimulate lively discussion on this topic.

Moderator: Isa Freeling

Panelists: Deborah Brown, Francesca Marcaccio Hitzeman, Ken Johnson, Luca Spano, Rachel Steinberg, Jasmine Wahi, Dareece Walker

Presented by: NYC Creative Salon

Organized by: Pia Coronel and Francesca Marcaccio Hitzeman
