About this Event

Nutrition Conference:

Dr. Dulaney will be speaking alongside of her daughter and staffed registered dietitian, Addie Dulaney Majnaric, RDN. The noteworthy guest speakers for this year’s conference will be Caryn Hartglass and Pamela A. Popper, Ph.D, N.D.

Dr. Jaimela Dulaney, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, has been a private practice cardiologist in Port Charlotte, FL since 1998. Dr. Dulaney is an innovative physician in the Southwest Florida region who has evolved her medical practice, placing an emphasis on lifestyle change and plant-based nutrition education as a means to help patients reverse chronic lifestyle diseases. Within her membership practice, Dr. Dulaney and her staff take the time to understand the patient’s health and wellness needs, then utilize only those tests beneficial in finalizing a treatment plan. This multifaceted treatment plan utilizes general medical care, cardiac care, nutritional education, and coaching, along with social support, to achieve the best state of wellbeing possible. When Dr. Dulaney is not practicing medicine, she demonstrates her belief in the importance of exercise and nutrition by eating a whole food plant based diet while successfully training for and competing in over 25 marathons, 6 Ironman triathlons, and one ultra-marathon with no stop in site.

Addie Dulaney Majnaric is a passionate plant-based Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), working as the Nutrition and Wellness Coordinator for Jaimela J Dulaney, M.D., PA. She is also a consulting plant-based dietitian in the Houston, TX area. Addie utilizes her education and experience in both the areas of exercise physiology and nutrition to advise clients on how to implement comprehensive lifestyle changes to improve their overall health and wellbeing and the wellbeing of their families. She also coordinates all health & wellness media content, wellness events and membership wide fitness challenges for the practice to create a thriving and positive wellness community for their members. As a former collegiate varsity rower and now avid runner, Addie practices what she preaches by competing in races ranging from half marathons, marathons to 50k ultra trail races and cooking family friendly, plant-based meals for her family.

Dr. Dulaney and Addie, along with Alfreda Dulaney, recently published their plant-based cookbook, Plant-based Wellness Cookbook: Three Generations of Cooking-the Doctor, the Dietitian, and the Diva. In addition to their lectures, Dr. Dulaney & Addie will be performing a cooking demonstration showcasing their recipes.

Caryn Hartglass is an ovarian cancer survivor, advocate, educator, health coach and radio show host who combines science with practical knowledge from real life experiences lecturing around the world about the powerful, healing benefits of a plant-based diet. She is the co-founder of the nonprofit organization Responsible Eating and Living (REAL) which delivers easy to use, factual information providing inspiration to take responsibility to nourish, protect and support ourselves, our families and the Earth with whole, plant-based foods and planet-friendly products. Caryn is the also the co-director of the Healthy Kitchen and Plant-Powered & Thriving 6-week online course programs at the Food Revolution Network with Ocean and John Robbins.

Pamela A. Popper, Ph.D, N.D., is the founder and President of Wellness Forum Health, a company which offers educational programs to both consumers and providers that facilitate informed medical decision-making, diet and lifestyle intervention, and improved long-term health outcomes. She serves on the Physician’s Steering Committee and the President’s Board for the Physicians’ Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington D.C. Pam served as part of Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s teaching team at eCornell, teaching part of a certification course on plant-based nutrition. She has been featured in many widely distributed documentaries, including Processed People and Making a Killing and Forks Over Knives, which played in major theaters throughout North America in 2011. She is one of the co-authors of the companion book which was on the New York Times bestseller list for 66 weeks. Her most recent films are Food Choices and The Yoyo Effect. Her most recent books are Food Over Medicine: The Conversation That Can Save Your Life.

The day includes a plant based breakfast and lunch, lectures, cooking demonstration, and a question and answer session. Check in for the event is 8:15 am. The day will conclude at 4:30 pm. This event is on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Port Charlotte Beach Park in the Recreation Room as listed above.

Private Consultations with Physician and Registered Dietitian:

In addition to the Nutrition Conference on Saturday, we will be offering private one hour consultations will be available with Dr. Jami Dulaney and Addie Dulaney Majnaric, RDN on Friday, March 27, 2020. The limited number of appointments will be available on a first come basis and held at 2495 Caring Way, Suite C in Port Charlotte, Florida, 33950.
