Redefining Singledom: Single, Strong and Sassy

Single. Solo. Uno. One.

When you’re single and approaching or are over 30, you can often be treated like a bit of a pariah. The general trajectory of life is geared towards coupledom, marriage, children and all that jazz, so if you don’t have or want those things by an age society deems appropriate, well, they’re just not sure what to do with you.

Bangs, who grew up catholic and experienced a lot of guilt around sex and desire, lost her sex drive while being in a long term relationship. It wasn't until she was single that she became more comfortable with sex and regained her sex drive. She kicked the feelings of guilt to the curb and is now having the best sex of her life, still being single but dating liberally.

So if you’re currently feeling the pressure to find a relationship, join us for Bang’s talk, who will share how she is happily single and living her best life. It’s time to redefine singledom. Being single is a necessary step to finding out who you are. It’s not something to be feared, pitied or chastised.

It can be a glorious time of self discovery, sexual freedom, confidence building and generally getting your shit together. Take the stigma out of Single and turn it into one of the most empowering times of your life.

We will start off the evening in our gorgeous Reserve behind the bookshelf and might just head into the stunning basement bar after the talk if the mood takes us there.

Bangs (Muireann Carey-Campbell) is a writer at bangsandabun.com and Fitness Editor at ELLE Magazine. She’s also the Head Instructor at BOOM Cycle and is dedicated to a life of sweat, smiles, body positivity and getting women moving.

Bangs says about Scarlet Ladies:

"I’m excited to be part of Scarlet ladies as I’m a confident, sex positive woman who enjoys every opportunity to grow, learn and just have a good ol’ X-rated natter."

About FIERCE Talks:

Our FIERCE Talks change attitudes and change lives. Guided by our founding values of Freedom, Inspiration, Esteem, Respect, Courage and Enjoyment, FIERCE Talks challenge prejudices around female sexuality head-on. Every month we bring you a FIERCE woman to inspire and educate you by sharing her ideas, knowledge and experience on a topic relating to female sexuality. We believe in the power of talking to help women stand together to challenge negative attitudes, and transform the lives of women from all walks of life.
