Field Videography with MCM

About this event
In this accelerated in-person class students will learn how to record their own video segments on location using their mobile devices, DSLRs and/or professional video cameras. Students will learn how to properly scout a location, assess technical production needs and apply optimal production practices to an out-of-studio scene location. Students must have their own recording device that they have experience operating. The course does not teach the student how to use the video recording device.
The course topics are:
- Scouting a Location
- Permits and Permissions
- Lighting
- Sound
- Composition
- Basic Editing
These projects will air on Montgomery County Channel 21, and Access 19.
Class times are Mondays 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Students are expected to complete their field assignments outside of class time. This course is planned to take place in-person, alternating between the MCM Rockville and Silver Spring location.
Entire class runs April 25 to May 23. (5 Weeks)
This course is necessary to complete the MCM Media Tech Certification track.
