Event description

Description

Location: Wilson Springs Ponds, 3507 S Powerline Road, Nampa, ID

Spend the morning with Golden Eagle Audubon Society for a bird walk at Wilson Spring Ponds. This Idaho Fish and Game wildlife area across the road from the Nampa Fish Hatchery contains ponds fed by warm springs that normally don’t freeze over and these attract large numbers of waterfowl in the colder months. The brushy areas surrounding the ponds provide habitat for a variety of songbirds as well. Black-crowned Night Herons, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Song Sparrows and Wood Ducks are likely to be seen. There are paved and unpaved trails around the ponds and a restroom is available. Dress for cold weather, bring binoculars, and plan to spend a half-day.
