More than two years after deconstruction of two dams was completed, teachers will explore the Elwha River Watershed's former dam and reservoir sites to:
- learn about impacts of the Elwha River's unpredictable behavior in the riparian zone.
- use standard tools and protocols to carry out field studies to gain an understanding of the changing ecosystem.
- learn how to prepare students for independent field studies in the outdoor classroom where they can apply four NGSS practices of science.
- receive resources for the classroom detailing the history of and current scientific research in the Elwha River Watershed.
