Description

THIS PROGRAM WILL PROVIDE 2 CFP CREDITS

Join us for an in depth look at the potential liability of Financial Professionals when discussing and recommending long term care planning strategies to your clients.

We will begin the day by focusing on the importance of well drafted, detailed estate planning documents as a foundation for long term care planning and review the legal and ethical considerations when dealing with incapacitated persons. Our attorneys will discuss the key factors that differentiate an Elder Law Attorney from a traditional Estate Planning attorney.

Next, we will share some warning signs that may indicate a long-term care need for your client or their family member and explore how to identify and manage the financial effect of health care considerations when discussing long term care. We will also provide an overview of the specific roles that Medicaid, Veteran's Benefits and long term care insurance play when planning to pay for long term care.

Finally, we will wrap with up with a quick review of the 2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and discuss its impact on Elder Law Planning for long term care, including medical expense deductions, gifting rules and estate tax considerations.

9:30am-10:00am - Arrival and Registration

10:00am-12:00pm - Presentation and Workshop
