Festival Event: The Bach Effect: Greatness, Grace and Gravitas and a Festival Talk: We can Hear the Universe!
Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (EDT)
This evening performance at 7:30 pm features soprano Gillian Bell in several arias by J. S. Bach and Canadian Brass trumpet virtuoso, Caleb Hudson in Bach's Brandenburg No. 2. There will be no intermission.
Featuring works by Bach.
Performers include Jonathan Ong, Dorothy Ro, Agigail Rojansky, Gillian Bell, Caleb Hudson and Warren Hagerty.
After the 7:30 pm performance, at 9:15 pm, there will be a Festival Talk that is included for paid attendees, entitled We can Hear the Universe!
With the revolutionary discovery and proof of Albert Einstein's gravitational waves earlier this year, our planned exploration of Gravity 350 gained additional inspriation to draw a great arch from Newton to Einstein. Professor Imre Bartos of Columbia University is a member of the team of scientists to make this exciting discovery. Join him for a talk on why scientists have for the first time exclaimed "We can Hear the Universe!"
