Join Us For Festival Bolivia 2015!

Mano a Mano is hosting its 6th annual springtime event on Saturday, May 9 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center! We hope you will join us for a fun night with a purpose.

April 29th is the final deadline to RSVP; if you plan on attending please respond ASAP!

We will be highlighting our new Center for Ecological Agriculture (CEA), a project that supports rural Bolivian farmers with training and low-cost tools to improve food security & nutrition in their communities using an ecologically sound approach. The event will include a cocktail reception, interactive displays featuring Mano a Mano's projects, a 3-course meal, and program showcasing the impact the CEA is having in rural Bolivia.

The CEA site, on the outskirts of Cochabamba, has a number of demonstration projects, including a dry bathroom, biodigestor, livestock pens (with livestock), greenhouses, sample water ponds, compost pile, water pump, cistern, and sample plots of different crops. Mano a Mano's agronomists on staff host rural Bolivian farmers who come on-site to learn more about the different projects and what might be the best fits in their community. When funding is available, Mano a Mano works with the communities to implement whichever projects are the best fit in their communities, along with providing ongoing training about how to take full advantage of the new projects.

  • Some of the first projects that have been implemented are community greenhouses and biosand water filters in the community of Jironkota, Bolivia - about a 2-hour drive from Cochabamba.
  • With additional funding, we can expand the CEA program and support more communities with training and tools to improve their lives.

Last Year's Event - Building a School in Bolivia

At last year's event we celebrated our 20th Anniversary, and in addition to introducing the Mano a Mano book and having a good time with Mano a Mano friends, we were able to raise enough money to build a new school in Esmeralda, Bolivia.

We Hope You Can Join Us!

We hope you will join Mano a Mano staff, board members, volunteers, and supporters for a fun evening that also helps support Mano a Mano.
