The San Francisco Standards for Promoting Family Economic Success (FES) are designed as a tool for planning, providing, and assessing quality FES services. Whether you are providing a singled FES service, such as tax preparation, access to healthcare benefits, financial education, or providing multiple services, the Standards provide a blueprint for implementing best practice.

This is a REQUIRED TRAINING of the: FES SITE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM. More details about the program can be found on our website:

ALL FES Certified Sites and agencies in progress of completing site certification are REQUIRED to attend this training.

Training designed for all management staff, direct service staff, and funders.

Note: Agencies seeking FES Site Certification and those who wish to maintain FES Site Certification, must send 2 staff from agency to training.

Please email Director of Training Dr. Martina Ayala at if you have any questions.

Family Economic Success services are those that enhance families' ability to increase their income and build their asset base. They include a broad range of services that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Workforce development, such as job readiness, career counseling, and job placement and retention
  • Access to income supports, such as public benefits, child care subsidies, and private money-saving programs
  • Access to affordable housing and rental assistance
  • Financial management education, such as credit counseling
  • Financial asset-building, such as debt relief, access to credits, savings, and home ownership.

  • FES Service Provision
  • Information Referral and Collaboration
  • Date Collection and Evaluation
  • Quality Practice
In this training, participants will learn and share practical and creative ways of implementing these Standards. Participants who complete the full series of required trainings will receive a certificate from the San Francisco Family Economic Success Coordinating Council valid for 2 years from the date of the training.
*Note new additions to training: This training will be provided as a pre-recorded video.  The training will provide an overview of the implementation of the Family Economic Success Standards, FES Certified Site Expectations, along with updates and information on FES resources.
