Description
Discover STEM with LEGO
Since 2015, Fernbank LINKS has hosted an annual LEGO Robotics Summer Camp for rising 4th-8th grade students. In the course of 5 days, students learn to strategize, design, build and program robots for the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL) competition! At the end of the camp, pairs of students compete in a tournament for unique LEGO trophies built by our own camp counselors. On average these campers, in one week perform as well as, if not better than, actual FLL competition teams of ten students do in months.
The goal of this camp is to expose students to FLL, prepare students for an FLL competition, and inspire them to become the STEM Leaders of tomorrow! Many students who attend these camps have been accepted to school teams or started their own teams, and our counselors are happy to provide recommendations for them. Of the 65+ DeKalb County School Distirct teams trained by Fernbank LINKS, 25% advanced to the Georgia FLL State Championship in 2019. Of those, 25% earned Championship awards. So what are you waiting for? Sign up for the LEGO Robotics Camp today!
The cost of the camp is $300 per student. Funds raised from this camp help support Fernbank LINKS Robotics with competition expenses during the FIRST Robotics Competition season.
