Misty Hollow invites you to a small ceremony celebrating interconnection and reverence for water. Together, we will release clay messages created by over 150 local residents, acknowledging the importance and role of Slippery Rock Creek watershed in our lives. Enjoy hot beverages and snacks as we venture into the forest to place the collective sculptures.
Led by Misty Hollow Artist in Residence Lindsey Peck Scherloum, nearly 300 objects were shaped from prehistoric clay harvested at Misty Hollow and assembled on stone platforms as collective sculptures. Each piece carries the embodied memory of ancestral hands, the instinctive gestures of making, and reflections on our relationship with local waterways.
Together we will seed these rafts with local fern moss and set the clay sculptures into the water cycle. Carried through rain and stream into larger bodies, they will carry whispers, messages, dreams and intentions— reminding us that we all live downstream, and we all rely on one another.
