Career Week Information
Traditionally, we have held an in-person Career Day each year that introduces our students to the workforce and provides them the opportunity to hear from professionals like you as you share your educational and career journeys. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have altered it so that it takes place virtually on several afternoons during the first week of February. For many students, Career Week will be their first opportunity to hear about careers and experiences they have never considered before. This makes it an event that is greatly impactful on a students journey through high school and vision for the future. We'd love to have you come join us for our Virtual Career Week!
What: 2021 Fenway High School Career Week
Students and professionals from Boston spend at least one afternoon during the first week of February sharing experiences, practicing interviewing skills, discussing career fields, and preparing for the future.
When: Tuesday, February 2nd-Friday February 5th, 1:30PM-3:30PM.
For 2 hours each day, students will attend either a career panel, mock interview session, or skill building workshop. Volunteers can participate in as many or as few of the afternoons as their availability permits. Volunteers can also choose which activity they would like to participate in or choose multiple activities to participate in. An email will be sent out in early January asking each participant where they feel most comfortable contributing their expertise and guidance.
Where: Virtually over Zoom.
Zoom links will be provided to you the week before the event. Additionally, informational sessions to prepare you for the week will take place on Monday and Tuesday mornings.
What you can do: Volunteers can choose to participate in one of the following activities:
- Professional Panel: Volunteers will serve on a panel made up of professionals representing a variety of industries. Panelists will share a bit about their background and career, and the session will then open up to a general Q&A so students can ask questions of individuals or the panel as a whole.
- Mock Interviews: Volunteers will be provided with a list of questions to conduct mock interviews to help students develop and practice their interviewing skills. Each student will come to the interview with his/her resume. Ideally, these volunteers are experienced interviewers or HR professionals who can give students feedback following their interviews.
- Skills Workshop: Special skills workshops will be available per volunteer request. Some workshops you could volunteer for include LinkedIn and resume assistance, personal/elevator pitch development, and networking. We are also open to suggestions from our volunteers about additional workshops to host.
NOTE: There will be multiple sessions run each day of the week. In January you will be asked which type of session(s) you would like to participate in. You can participate in one session or multiple, depending on your availability. This registration form will sign you up for one day, but you will be able to specify which day(s) you would like to participate in when we reach out again in January.

Please share this invitation with your networks and encourage your colleagues and friends to attend so that we can increase the diversity of professions represented.
