Feminism(s) and Gender in Contemporary Culture
Event Information
About this Event
In this seminar Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Culture is joined by Intersec+ions—a non-hierarchical, interdisciplinary, student-led network exploring the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, (dis)ability, neurodiversity, and more, based in Cardiff’s School of English, Communication, and Philosophy (https://cardiffintersections.wordpress.com/).
JOMEC’s Dr Hannah Hamad and Dr Francesca Sobande, and Beth Pyner, a PhD candidate from ENCAP and current Co-Chair of Intersec+ions, will be in conversation alongside guest speaker Alison Phipps from Sussex. Discussing feminism and gender, this session considers the parallels and divergences between past, present and future feminism(s), including the movement’s intersections with contemporary, popular, and digital cultures.
