Event description

Description

Feminism Fights Military Morals is part one of two exhibition projects.

The exhibition will be composed of accessible materials that is familiar to the everyday people, with the focus to create a non intimidating space that can be a place of reflection on consciousness and awareness of what individual morals we base our belief systems on.

Feminism Fights Military Morals has a three step system that plays on the military draft service.

  1. Registration

  2. Initiation

  3. Certification

- As a Registration process, participants will first be instructed to review the process of exhibition. There will be directions posted throughout the space with numbered stations and steps. “READ THE DRILL”

- For the Initiation step, participants will be encouraged to absorb and contemplate on the various information posted and choose to participate in the next step of self recruitment. By associating themselves to the reflections of our individual and collective mindset relating to the military mindset the participants can choose to join the Feminist dialogue.

- The third and final step will be to certify the participants self-recruitment and provide them with physical proof of the performative display by filling out the Feminist Service for Genuine Security Registration Certificates and getting an identification picture taken for archival purposes.

Surrounding this system of self-recruitment into the Feminist dialogue, we will also have workshop stations and a lecture by Dr. Rebecca A. Adelman leading the dialogue on intersections of feminist morals and military morals with Lynn Cazabon on environmental impacts of military advancements.

Goal

Through CAMP and PLAY utilize military structures filtered through a Feminist lense to expose the cruel and interlaced nature of military morality and domination. Create inclusive environment for all people regardless of gender, sex, race, nationality with awareness to further the thoughts on feminism as a human issue that needs to be accepted and shared by males as well as females in a military dominated mindset. Security shouldn’t come from military success. It should be through love and communal sharing. The goal is to provide participants with information not shared in such combination otherwise.

Project Mission

As a collaborative group utilize each artist’s talents and skills, bring together a happening (performative display) that is inclusive and create awareness of the degenerative effects of military morals/patriarchal power and how to combat it with Feminist Morals/Feminist Power for the betterment of humankind. How do we choose the roles we play? How do we choose our morals amongst interlaced and layered ideas of militarized violence of our society? How do we learn to be Human?

Major themes that will be explored by Feminist Task Force XX:

  • What is Feminist Moral in disparity with Military Morals?

  • Dissect the interlaced nature of military morals in the systematized patriarchal society.

  • Investigate ways patriarchy is passed down to indoctrinate young minds molding the current patriarchal system through dominance in support of a military mindset.

  • How military predilection and the subliminal ways such ideologies are passed onto younger generations.

  • Understand the ways military ideas penetrate civilian lives

  • Power relation created to conquer another

Our goal is to exhibit an artistic feminist interpretation of the military mindset as a collaborative project utilizing each participating artists’ talents and skills as part of a sharing system.
