About this Event

PROJECT SPACE 1785 ANNOUNCES SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THE FELT MUSIC SERIES

A cross-genre live performance set inside an art installation; complimentary and collaboratively with the performing artist for a full body experience.

Vero Beach, Florida – February 10, 2020 – The doors open at 7:15 PM for Project Space 1785’s (PS1785) newest collaborative project titled Felt which will present its next artist, KacyLolita on Saturday, February 29th.

The evening begins with a live drawing performance by South Florida based artist Stephanie Davis. Her performance drawings make references to the geometric configurations in mandala art and the automatism drawings of the surrealists. Davis’ movement based drawings are the medium that places transient human motion into a 2D plane. As a yogi, she experiments with movement based art incorporating asanas to explore a range of human motion and struggle.

The evening transitions into a live performance by Colombian-American artist KacyLolita. Her music is the unfiltered recount of her progression from adolescence to adulthood and intends to provide a raw and unapologetic performance of her life experiences. Her cross-genre sensibilities provide a unique assortment of sound influenced by genres spanning Latin rhythm, jazz, hip-hop, and rock.

Event Details: Doors open at 7:15 PM. Doors close for performance at 8:00 PM. Cover $10. Location: Project Space 1785; 1795 Old Dixie Road, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960.

The Felt music series: The process of making felt material requires the rolling and pressing of a textile with the application of moisture or heat which causes the fibers to mat together to make one smooth surface. The Felt music series intends to do the same. To provide a platform where music and art converge to create an experience that is intimate and resonates physically with the audience. The happening aims to connect multiple mediums such as sound, installation and performance for a singular experience.
