About this Event

Feeding Our Economy:

Food Security. Good for Business.

Bread for the World - Indiana

Tuesday • April 20, 2021 • 4:30 p.m. EDT

You know hunger hurts children.

But did you know it’s hard on the economy, too?

Hunger hurts economic growth. Hungry workers are less productive. Poorly nourished children do not reach their potential to be self-sufficient adults. Food insecurity stunts bodies — and human potential — that might otherwise help drive economic growth.

Bread for the World of Indiana hosts a one-hour conversation on how and why governments should invest in accessible, equitable and nutritious food systems.

Speakers:

Sen. Mike Braun Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry

Dr. Heather Eicher-Miller Purdue University Department of Nutrition Science

Eric Halvorson Kroger Corporation

Michelle Hummel Organizational Effectiveness Consultant, former WIC staff

Tickets are free. Reservations required. Zoom link will follow registration.
