January is a time to recover from all the pie and pastry of the holidays. It's a month of resolutions: getting back to the gym, back on the budget, back on the diet. We're not going to guilt you about what you do or don't eat, but we do want to take this month to think together about what it means spiritually to feed ourselves well. The meal will be delicious, traditional, and (dare we say?) healthy foods as we celebrate our bodies and souls.
How do I get there?
We'll be meeting in a private home in the Clear Lake area, near Middlebrook. Because we often meet in private homes, we don't like to put addresses on the website. We'll email you the address when you register.
What if I have dietary contraints?
That's perfectly fine. We can work with just about anything. After you register, just email email@example.com with your dietary constraint.
Does this cost anything?
If this is your first time, no. Dinner is on us. If you've come before, we just ask for a donation. Give whatever you can. You can add your donation in the "donation" line of the registration.
Can I bring friends?
Absolutely. Brings friends, neighbors, random people you meet on the train, and your second cousin you never talk to. Just make sure to register for the appropriate number of tickets so we know how many to prepare for.
How long will it last?
Our dinner last 2-2.5 hrs, depending on how much people talk. Part of the intention behind gastrochurch is to serve slow food, in every sense of the term. There aren't many times in our society when people spend two hours around the table anymore, and we think that's a shame.
What should I bring to the event?
You are welcome to bring a beverage to share. We'll have a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, as well as beer and wine, but feel free to bring your favorite beverage to share.
How can I find out about future events?
Sign up for our email list to get updates about upcoming events.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Feel free to email any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
