Federalism vs Nationalism
Event Information
Description
“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite.” James Madison (Federalist 45)
What type of government structure did the U.S. constitution setup? Is that structure still in place today? Has our federal government extended it's authority beyond the constitutional bounds? If so, what can be done or is it already too late?
Join us Thursday June 9th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Texas Public Policy Foundation auditorium and we’ll address these questions and more with guest speaker Dwayne Stovall – Director of Get Off My State, former candidate for the Texas U.S. Senate, small business owner and grassroots activist and leader.
In addition to our guest speaker we will have a distinguished panel of activists who will make short presentations and take your questions and comments.
For those who want to continue the discussion, we will walk to a close by establishment for conversation, food and drink.
Parking is accommodated by plenty of close by street parking ($1/hr.), parking garages ($3-$10/hr.) and Luxe - On-Demand Parking ($5/hr.). Public transportation is provided by bus and rail services.
