Event description

Description

Connections Matter is a community-based initiative that invites attendees to explore how the connections we make in life profoundly impact our brain's ability to grow and our own individual abilities to cope and thrive. In this training, we explore topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, brain development, and resilience. We will teach you how these topics intersect with one another, and, most importantly, how you can apply these concepts within your own life and your respective communities. Connections Matter ultimately strives to promote the building of more resilient, compassionate, and trauma-informed communities - thus allowing all children and individuals to succeed.

What you will receive when attending a training:

  • Interactive, discussion-based curriculum

  • Better understanding of trauma, brain development, resilience, and health - and how these topics relate to one another

  • Concrete knowledge about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

  • Action planning and next steps for how you can make a difference

  • Resources on trauma-informed care and implementation

  • Strategies for increasing and improving your own connections

  • Meeting other community members and building your network

  • Tools for strengthening both personal and community resilience
