Description

This workshop is a comprehensive approach to understanding poverty. Bridges Out of Poverty uses the lens of economic class and provides concrete tools and strategies for a community to alleviate poverty and is based on the research of Dr. Ruby Payne and her associates.

Participants will review poverty research, examine a theory of change, and analyze poverty through the prism of the hidden rules of class, resources, family structure, and language.

Throughout the workshop, participants will receive specific strategies for improving outcomes, but the focus of the workshop is to provide a broad overview of concepts.

This training assists employers, community organizations, social service agencies, and individuals gain insight and strategies.

Continuing education for social work, nursing, counseling, Birth to Three, STARS, and Domestic Violence certification have been applied for.

This workshop will be held at the Ohio County DHHR office. Space is limited to the first 40 to register. There are two options for registration:

$50 includes registration, lunch and Bridges Out of Poverty workbook

$75 includes registration, lunch and Bridges Out of Poverty paperback and workbook.

Organizations registering 5 or more employees will receive a 10% discount: Contact FRN for more information.

Refunds will only be given with 7 days advance notice so that your spot may be given to someone on the waitlist.
