About this event
On Feb. 25 legendary naturalist and activist Jane Goodall will join book club readers to share her work and her latest project, “The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times.”
Renowned expert on chimpanzees, anthropologist and U.N. messenger of peace, Goodall will be in virtual conversation with Times reporter Dorany Pineda.
In her new book, Goodall discusses the experiences that shaped her discoveries – from living through World War II, to working in Africa, to traveling the world as an advocate for environmental justice -- and her ideas about channeling hope into activism. She wrote "The Book Of Hope" with author Doug Abrams.
Goodall currently is the subject of the immersive “Becoming Jane” experience at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Special offer just for L.A. Times Book Club readers: Purchase discounted tickets here to visit the “Becoming Jane” exhibit on your own before or after book club night.
Keepsake books: A limited number of copies of “The Book of Hope” with signed bookplates are available for book club readers.
When: Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. PST.
Where: This free virtual event will stream on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Watch links will be provided the week of the event.
