Description

Announcing the first-ever Austin Changemaker Chat on Wed., February 7th!

Changemaker Chats is a non-profit women's salon series that brings together early-mid career women to learn from female leaders today. And we're so thrilled to kick off our first ever Austin Chat with Laura Donnelly, Co-founder and COO of the nonprofit, Latinitas.

Latinitas enables young Latinas to achieve personal and academic success through media and technology outreach to address the critical state of Latina girls today. As COO, Laura manages production of the magazine, program outreach and resource development for the organization. She has spent the majority of her career championing girls, and has been named a YWCA of Austin Woman of the Year and also awarded the Young Women’s Alliance 40 Under 40 Award.

Each month, the Chat will have a different theme. As we move into 2018, this month's theme is BEGINNINGS, so we'll be asking questions on how to begin — or begin again — when the going gets tough.

Seating is limited, so be sure to grab a spot!

*PLEASE NOTE: The first chat will be free to give you all a chance to come check it out and see what you think. Future chats will be $15 a ticket.

ABOUT LAURA

Laura Donnelly has been a journalist, a book publicist for Maya Angelou, former President Jimmy Carter and even "Jurassic Park" creator Michael Crichton, a documentary filmmaker - even a p.a. for the Geraldo Rivera show. While getting her masters at the University of Texas Austin, Laura co-founded the first magazine made for and by young Latinas and a non-profit that empowers girls to innovate through media and technology, Currently Latinitas' CEO, Laura leads operations, resource development program management and magazine publishing for the organization's Austin, TX hub and chapter office in El Paso. Donnelly has been recognized for her role in empowering young Latinas as a 2010 winner of Austin’s Under 40 awards, the YWCA of Austin Woman of the Year, “Leader of Promise” and nationally as Hispanicize’s Positive Impact Award winner in 2015.
