Fearless Flameworking: Make What You Like
Fri, Apr 7, 2017, 6:00 PM – Sun, Apr 9, 2017, 5:00 PM EDT
Flameworking is an extremely versatile process for working with glass that can result in the realization of a huge variety of forms. My practice involves figuring out exactly what I want to make, then applying the appropriate process to get to the desired result. In this class, I will be relying heavily on the wants of the students, encouraging them to develop projects based in research, concept, and aesthetics. I will demonstrate whatever techniques seem best to help them move forward in their work and achieve their goals. This class will focus heavily on design, assembly processes, and problem solving. We will use borosilicate glass and will likely cover blowing, sculpting, color applications, and tooling. This class requires some previous flameworking experience.
