Event description

Description

Fear&Fail conferences provide a space where we participate in a warm and open environment and learn more about the path of the speaker - their beliefs, challenges, limits and breakthroughs. Every speaker exposes a different and unique experience all of us can relate to, learn form and use as a tool for personal growth.

While failure is only a perspective of looking at things, fears are our underlying forces that shape our realities. Our brave speakers are there to expose fears and look at the failures through a different lens. They each have 15 minutes to share their story and take us on the journey we've perhaps also experienced, but didn't reflect on in such a way.

Meet our brave speakers and book your spot to witness their incredible journeys live:

Gérard Spencer

Gérard has embraced a road less traveled when he decided to pursue his love and passion towards an unusual and untypical instrument - the Hang. Once a piano player and failed start-up owner, Gérard found his way back to a life of joy and fulfilment. From Luxembourg to Brussels, England, India, Tibet and back to Brussels, his journey is an inspirative ode to following the dreams and finding ways to overcoming obstacles along the way. From the young age confusion and uncertainty, Gérard now drives his life with an utmost vision and mission towards his goal - to lead with authencity and determination towards connecting people and sharing the joys of culture, arts and music.

Ruth Friedman

Ruth is trained and experienced as a scientist - in environmental and community issues, and as an educator but her life has been enriched with a varity of fields. She is a focusing guide trainer and coach and consultant on the topics of self improvement and personal growth. Building on her experience in human rights and diversity education her passion is supporting individuals and teams to gain a better understanding of cultural differences, to help maximise the benefits of intercultural teams and to help individuals and their families get the most out of living in a new culture. Ruth has been through many winding roads which tought a lot about the importance of self compassion and being truthful to oneself.

Oriane Patout

Oriane was a happy child, but always thirsty for more adventures so she moved to the “big” city of Brussels where she undertook studies of translation, communication and international relations in order to be able to work in multicultural associations one day. When her university requested her to do a traineeship wherever she wanted, she was quick in discoveirng an opporunity for a volunteering job in Costa Rica. There she worked with biologists in the jungle for one impressive environment conservation project. She had for the first time in her life that feeling of being connected to herself, her values, her mission and she just promised herself to do whatever it would take to find that lifestyle back.
