Event description

Students are the leaders of tomorrow. Among them, there will be a president, ministers, senators, chief executive officers, soldiers, medical doctors, ambassadors, commissioners, Director-Generals, National and state house of assembly Members, Advisers, governors, secretaries, commissioners, entrepreneurs, etc. However, according to a report many people find it difficult to accomplish this big dream. Owing to a lack of awareness of what to do and inadequate education. The greatest solution to this is having a quality education. According to Malcom X, “Education is the Passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare it today. Thanks to technology that provides everyone and anyone with a great opportunity to have outstanding quality and excellent education freely, promptly and flexibly. Using the internet, you can study from the best university in the world within Nigeria, know the strategies that successful people applied that made them successful and do remarkable things that will lead you to success.

Moreover, computers, smartphones, tablets, iPads, iPhones, and the internet are powerful tools we have in this 21st Century. These facilities are changing and improving everything in our life and nothing is exempted. They can help us to get an outstanding and excellent education from far areas, become smarter, intelligent, and successful. This becomes possible only if we know how to use them wisely constantly. Otherwise, it has no benefit.

To support optimal utilization of ICT facilities and the internet, we are embarked on special programs: training teachers on the strategies that can improve their performance and giving them ICT skills through ICT workshop, pushing students to learn by motivating, inspiring, and encouraging them. Specifically, we motivate the student by showing them similar people they would be if they commit and work hard in schools. Furthermore, we provide genuine and real agencies, ministries, international organizations, and embassies that provide assistance for all qualified and deserving candidates. Particularly, we expose students to Chevening scholarship, NITDA scholarship, Shell scholarship, Hungary scholarship, Japan Scholarship, UK scholarship, TETFUND scholarship, Commonwealth scholarship, Nigerian Bilateral scholarship, etc. Currently, hundreds of Nigerians are studying in the UK with free scholarship, some graduated, and some are working in different countries. Thus, some of these successful people would be present in this programme.

So, this workshop gives awareness about all opportunities that students required for their personal development and progress.

This workshop is focused on two things:

1. Firstly, free scholarship. The workshop is focused on expanding educational opportunities for everyone irrespective of background in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 enhancing quality education. As the FCT Abuja has over 104 embassies which include the United Kingdom, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. Since the majority of these embassies offer a hundred percent scholarship for all interested and talented people. Thus, we will discuss how and when to apply for these scholarships.

Benefits of Scholarships for any successful candidate:

2. Secondly, the workshop is concentrated on acquainting participants with the best strategies for the proper and efficient use of ICT. This is because of mobile phones, computers, and the Internet are increasingly available. However, one of the major problems is improper utilization by many. Not everyone understands what a mobile phone, computer or the Internet can do for them, how to use a mobile or internet for something other than a chatting or phone call, the kinds of information and services that can be accessed or delivered through a mobile phone, computer or over the Internet, or how this information can be used to improve lives and livelihoods. The majority of students are unaware of the value of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Quora. They seem to be uninformed that these applications are a powerful source of an excellent education.

Thus, we explore students on how they can greatly use ICT to simplify the acquisition and absorption of knowledge, and techniques to improve creativity and the initiative and widen the range of opportunities. Jointly, instead of malapropos use of Facebook or any social media chatting we can train these participants on how they can use ICT to facilitate access to experts, researchers, professionals, talented, and peers—all over the world.
