Event description

Description

FCAGKC is proud to bring Karen L Smith, PhD. to Kansas City for our annual meeting on November 3rd from 2:30-4:30p at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Karen is the medical bioethisist for the 800 bed Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She spends her days teaching doctors and medical staff about ethics and ethical decision making and assisting families with decisions that are difficult to imagine.

She will share with us information on the Death with Dignity laws in place or under discussion in many states. Also, she will delve into how difficult it can be to use the law, even when it's legal, why doctors are so hesitant to assist and the ethical principles at play.

This talk is for everyone - friends of FCAGKC, social workers, nurses, physicians, clergy, seniors, students, and private citizens who are interested in the trends and topics of end of life care and the funeral business.

1.5 ETHICS CEUs will be available!

Please consider taking time out of your schedule to get amazing FREE information from someone working with those in the midst of these decisions.

RSVP Deadline 10/31...if you DARE!
